WHY SIAU?

Rising from the deep waters north of Sulawesi,

Siau is one of Indonesia’s least explored island destinations.

Dominated by the dramatic silhouette of Karangetang Volcano, the island combines volcanic landscapes, black sand beaches, coral reefs and authentic local culture into a uniquely adventurous experience.

While much of Indonesia’s diving tourism focuses on established destinations, Siau remains largely untouched.

Early exploration around the island suggests healthy reefs, exceptional visibility and promising black sand macro diving opportunities.

Beyond the ocean, guests can experience volcano trekking, hot springs flowing into the sea, island hopping, bird watching and evening encounters with wild Tarsier populations just minutes from the resort.

DIVING IN SIAU

Diving around Siau remains largely unexplored, creating exciting opportunities for discovery and exploration.

Early reports suggest a diverse environment including:

  • volcanic black sand habitats

  • macro and muck diving potential

  • healthy coral reefs

  • underwater pinnacles

  • excellent visibility often exceeding 30 metres

The island’s volcanic nature also creates unique coastal environments where hot springs enter the sea, potentially supporting unusual marine ecosystems rarely encountered elsewhere.

As exploration continues, new dive sites and marine life discoveries will be documented and shared through our expedition updates.
